Get A Good Online Degree

Distance and online learning is the latest wave in adult education and fueled by high speed Internet and the increasing ownership of personal home computers it looks unlikely to crest any time soon. In fact experts predict that the over 2 million online learners are expected to grow by up to third per year for the foreseeable future.
This phenomena is creating a wake of interest that is inspired by the aspirations of millions more Americans who want to finally get their college degree. For many of them an online degree represents a second chance at achieving their dream and unfortunately too many of them are grabbing too quickly at opportunities that look too good to be true. They may end up getting an online degree but if that degree is not accredited then they may have the paper but not the value and prestige that they were looking for.
Like any other business there are good suppliers and others who are cutting corners and selling pounds that are a couple of ounces short. To ensure you get a good online degree you need to be cautious, careful and do your homework before you enroll in a distance learning program.
The first thing to look for is whether or not the program is affiliated with a reputable school or program. Some of the lesser online degree programs offer their affiliation to a small community college in rural Arkansas or Louisiana as their stamp of approval. Others use names that make you think that they are affiliated to a good university program.
One such program is and was being offered to people in the military and specifically being targeted to American soldiers serving in Iraq.
Trinity College & University based in Metairie, Louisiana, is not affiliated with the esteemed Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, although their similar name leaves that impression. More importantly however is the fact that this "school" is not accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. That means that any online degree they offer may not be recognized or rewarded later. Continuing education online.
In order to ensure that your online degree is a good one you need to find out if the distance learning program offered by the college, university or technical institute has been accredited. Accreditation is the process of vigorous review and monitoring that educational programs are put through to ensure consistency and adherence to the same curriculum and standards. There are a number of regional accreditation agencies across the country and only they can approve or remove accreditation from am online degree program.
Don't just get an online degree, get a good online degree, you have worked for it and you deserve it.
