Modern technology provides us with new and easier ways than ever before to obtain a higher education. In the fast paced world we live in, it has become harder for the average working person to advance their education and increase their earning potential.
Most nurses pursue a LPN degree in order to get into the work force in a shorter amount of time than pursing a RN would allow. They generally would like to become a RN but feel they cannot afford to take the extra time off work in order to pursue the further education needed. It would mean taking time off work to attend courses on campus, find time to study, and complete clinical requirements.
With today’s modern technology LPN’s can now obtain their RN degree through online courses in the comfort of their own home and at times that are convenient for them. With online courses the student can log into their courses 24 hours per day and 7 days a week. This allows the LPN to continue working while pursuing their RN without taking away from their working hours.
The advantages of taking online courses are numerous. No more driving to a campus to attend classes. You can simply walk to your computer in your home and your there! No more paying for those parking permits that the college require to park in their lots. You get to park in the comfort of your own garage or driveway! No more walking across a large campus in the rain, wind, snow or heat to get to and from your classrooms. You can now just click a button and you are at your next class! No more scheduling your work and personal time around your class schedule and vice versa. You can log on anytime you want and do your assignments when it is convenient for you!
Online nursing classes can be a bit challenging but to the working LPN. However, it is the most efficient way to do it. If you have the self-discipline to complete assignments on time and to comprehend what you read, then online courses are the perfect way to obtain your RN degree and continue working at the same time.
Most employers provide educational reimbursement to LPN’s who are returning to school to obtain their RN degree. There are also many other avenues of financial assistance including: state and federal aid, scholarships, and student loans. Because of the increasing popularity of online Nursing degree programs, many large healthcare providers have study groups and assistance for online students available at their facilities.
The greatest benefit of all is being able to spend more time with your family. The working LPN who is pursing their RN degree has very little free time while attending on campus classes. Online courses allow the LPN to be home rather than in a classroom listening to a teacher lecture you on the things you have already read. There is nothing more valuable than a persons family, and time spent at home with them is priceless!
